Jesuit missionary and explorer. Born in Palermo, Sicily in 1654, Piccolo arrived in Mexico in 1684. He travelled to Baja California in 1697, where he was one of the earliest missionaries after Father Eusebio Kino. Later he served in the missions of Sonora and Sinoloa.
